Short explanations of the terms used in the reports.

A to C

  • AI search: a search of five words or more, the long and conversational kind people use when they talk to an AI.
  • Anonymized query: a search so rare that Google does not report it. Its clicks and impressions are in your totals, but the query is not in any table.

  • Average position: where your site ranks on average. 1 is the best. Shown as Avg. position or Pos.Avg.
  • Brand query: a search that contains your brand name. The opposite is a non-brand query.
  • Click: a visit to your site from a link in Google results.

  • Top ranking page: the page of your site that Google showed most for a query in the dates you picked. The newest days are not counted until they have settled (about six days).
