Susanna Dashboard

Getting started

Create an account, connect Search Console and open your first report.

You can have your first report open in a few minutes.

What you need

  • A Google account that has access to your site in Google Search Console, as an owner or as a user of the property.
  • Your site added and verified in Search Console. A property that was only just verified starts filling with data after a few days.

1. Create your account

Susanna Dashboard is in a private alpha, open by invitation: ask for one at hello@susannadashboard.com. Once you are invited, choose Sign in with Google. At this step Google only shares your email address.

2. Connect Search Console

Choose Connect Search Console and sign in with the Google account you use for Search Console.

Google asks you to allow read-only access to your Search Console data. That is the only permission needed. It lets the tool read your numbers. It cannot change anything in your Search Console, add or remove sites, or submit anything to Google.

Tip: if the sites you manage are in different Google accounts, connect the one that has the sites you want to see.

3. Choose your sites

You see the sites your Google account can access in Search Console. Tick the ones you want to report on and press Keep these sites, or press Add all to add every site on the list at once. With a long list, type in the search box first: Add all then adds only the sites it found. Every site you add becomes a dashboard, and the free plan includes one dashboard (see Billing).

Both kinds of Search Console property work: a domain property (for example example.com) and a URL-prefix property (for example https://www.example.com/).

After you add sites you land on the Overview, which lists them all. A moving bar and a line of text show that the numbers are on their way. The last 30 days are fetched first, so the first numbers appear within seconds. Older months are filled in behind the scenes, so the history grows while you look around, and the line goes away when everything has arrived. You do not need to wait for it.

4. Pick the dates

The date picker in the top bar sets the period every number, graph and table covers.

  • Presets: Today, Past 7 days, Past 30 days (the default), Past 90 days, Past 6 months and Past 12 months.
  • Custom: choose any start and end date.
  • Compare with: the previous period (the same number of days right before), the same period last year, custom dates, or nothing.

Every number then shows how it changed compared with the dates you chose. See Metrics explained for how that change is calculated.

Note: Search Console is 2 to 3 days behind, so the newest days can look empty. That is normal; see Data & limits.

5. Explore

A few things worth trying first:

  1. On the Overview, look at the four widgets: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position.
  2. In the Search queries table, press a column name such as Clicks to choose how to sort by it, and the arrow beside the name to reverse the order.
  3. Open the Worth a look tab above the table and choose Opportunities to see the searches that could bring the most extra clicks.
  4. Open the AI searches report to see the long, conversational searches people use to find you.
  5. Press Export CSV to take the table into a spreadsheet.
